Will the iPad mini ever be released?

Were you one of the many people who eagerly awaited Apple’s recent keynote speech about the iPhone 5? Or someone who felt disappointed about the lack of iPad mini?

Well, incoming reports are still suggesting that the iPad mini could be wrapped up under your tree in time for Christmas.

As well as a smaller iPad, cnet is suggesting that Apple may be considering expanding the iPhone range. Offering different screen sizes, which would in turn open up sales to all spectrums of the market. A smaller handset for smaller hands, perfect for younger customers with a tighter budget. This would put them in a  market that is dominated by Google’s Android platform. It is certainly an interesting thought, whether Apple believe it is a viable route or not is up to them. After all they have a tendency to think differently.

Tech-Factor?

For the last few years Will.i.am, solo artist and member of the Black Eyed Peas has been singing the praises of current and future tech. Now Simon Cowell wants to bring an X-Factor style tv show, fronted by the pop star, to unearth the UK’s “Mark Zuckerberg”. Mr Cowell was quoted saying “Singing and performance create a couple of jobs, but this will create lots,” he said. “It’s about getting in touch with youth and giving them a platform to express themselves — whether that’s in science or mathematics”. Whether that is his core motivation is for others to decide. Would an X-Factor/Dragon’s Den style tech show work?

BBC Equivalent of Spotify coming soon

Services such as Spotify and Rdio have well established in the music streaming industry, but now the BBC are looking to enter. The service is called Playlister and would be free to TV license payers. The music catalogue behind this may not be as large as that of sites such as Spotify, but they would be able to call upon their legendary archives of session music. So whilst they might not be able to provide users with Justin Bieber’s latest single, they could be able to access live recordings from Maida Vale studios of Jimi Hendrix. The Telegraph believes the service could be launched by the end of the year or early 2013.

the relationship has ended up more like a partnership

Clapperton Media

Rareform designed my website at clapperton.co.uk and they have been responsive, really good at hand-holding, and listened not just to the brief but insisted on getting an idea of what my objective was rather than just making something that looked pretty. If you need a website designed but also need it to deliver for you, I'd recommend them; the relationship has ended up more like a partnership than a supplier/customer thing.
